Trump Declares Victory in Post Mid-Term Press Conference
Markets cheered a day after the mid-term elections that saw the Democratic party take the house while the Republicans maintained the senate. The first day post election saw the S&P sharply as investors seem to like government gridlock.
Only two weeks ago in the depths of the October sell off Larry Kudlow suggested that the markets were perhaps smelling out a possible Democratic victory in the mid-term elections.
We will likely only get a true sense of the tone of the new government some time in late January.
President Trump seemed to declare victory at his press conference where he seemed to be his angriest. Politics can sometimes be like watching your kids soccer games on Saturday afternoon. As long as someone scores everyone is happy.
Mid term elections are just one of many hurdles that the markets will have to clear. This one may be behind us but the market seems gassed and will face many more challenges as we close out the year.
